The gist of this workout program is that it's only 25 mins a day, 5 days a week. The first 5 weeks is the ALPHA round, which builds your endurance and muscle tone to get ready for the second 5 weeks, BETA. Easy enough! I did Insanity 2 months ago and had some awesome results, but when it ended I didn't know what else to do. I thought about doing Insanity again, but the workouts for the second month are between 45-60 minutes. I really don't have time for that. So T-25 it was.
The workouts were, as promised, 25 minutes long with a 3 minute cool-down at the end. If you've ever done Insanity, I would compare it to the pure cardio days, where it's pretty intense, but then it's over and you can go about your day. The great thing about T-25 is the modified versions. Insanity didn't have anything like that, so it was nice if you were having an off day to still get in your workout, but modify it.
So, for the record, I'm not a Beach Body Coach. I'm not trying to sell you anything. I'm just sharing my results. I loved Insanity and after looking at these pictures, I'm loving T-25 too!
These are my before pictures. I'm a beautiful person. I know.
And after:
So, it's definitely not as drastic as this:
But I also don't have 30 pounds to lose this time. I am happy with the results so far! I lost half an inch from each arm and an inch from my hips, waist and 2 inches from my thighs and 4 pounds. Also, my hair looks better now.
To answer some questions, I did do Shakeology for part of the first month. I didn't particularly like the taste, but the claims were pretty spot on. They claim it "curbs cravings, promotes weight loss, increases energy levels, improves digestion, supports immune system, supports cardiovascular strength." I think all those claims were pretty spot on. I didn't really crave any brownies (GASP!) and it could definitely replace my morning cup of coffee, but it's pricey. Too pricey to consume every day ($130 for a 30 day supply). So I drink it for breakfast 2-3 times a week, but I won't drink it every day. My diet is pretty crappy, which is fine since I'm still nursing and not working out to lose weight.
I did lose track of my workout schedule when I was sick and ended up skipping a few days during week 4, but got back on track. I do follow the schedule that comes with the DVD's as well as run 3-4 times a week (between 2-5 miles).I'll probably finish up with BETA. But I'm also focusing a lot on running right now. I told Big S back when we were dating that I really wanted to run a full marathon by the time I was 25. Well, that's 2 years away. We decided if we wanted to make that happen for me and make it enjoyable for the kids, we might as well do it at the most magical place on earth, DISNEY WORLD. So in January, 2015, I will run my first full marathon (that's 26.2 miles). So pretty soon I'll be starting my training for that.
Want more info on t-25, feel free to shoot me a question to the right!
Thinking about doing T-25 or Insanity? I will harass you about it. You're welcome.
Big S said I look sad in my after pictures. I'm not sad, I promise.
(Oh and in case you're wondering what that ADORABLE necklace I'm wearing is, it's Origami Owl. You can order one at melbecker.origamiowl.com)
