3 Years.

In 2007, I met Big S.
He was a senior, I was a junior.
We were in physics class together.
Mr. Penneline, last period of the day.
I can still remember the first thing I ever said to him, "Hey, my sister said she met a guy named Spencer at our church last week, was that you?"
"Uh, no."
Romance from the start.

Somehow I ended up in his video for Russian class.
I don't speak Russian.
From then on we were in separable.
I vividly remember getting yelled at for making out with him while sitting on the swing under my parents deck.

I'm amazed at how far we've come.
3 years of marriage doesn't sound like much, but after all we've been through, it really is a lot.
The odds are stacked against us.
I've already seen a few couples get married after us and are already facing divorce.
We try and shield our marriage, protect it from the same fate.
And there's no way we would have made it even half this far if it wasn't for a firm foundation, a cord of 3 strands.

Ecclesiastes 4:12
Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

And trust me, there have been many, many times we should have broken. This year alone has brought so many trials on our marriage.
But here we are.
I can say without hesitation that marrying Big S was the best decision of my life and I am so incredibly blessed with such a wonderful, hardworking husband.
And he's funny, too.

Happy 3rd Anniversary, babe. I love you!
M
