I was super pregnant last year, so we just went to dinner. It wasn't even a eat-until-you-feel-like-a-true-American dinner, I was too pregnant to eat and actually enjoy it.
Like, what's the point of being pregnant if eating isn't even fun?
Oh yeah, babies.
That's it.
(Before I share these ideas and everyone says "OMG! Big S is totally going to know what you're giving him now!" calm down. He doesn't read my blog. It's weird. I could literally write that he hates puppies and has 14 toes on each foot and he'd never know.)
So this was his present last year:
(I did this, but not this fancy. I'm a lazy wife.)
But I did do this:
This present was perfect for him. I think he loved it more than he loves me.
It included a Parks and Rec reference, beer, video games, music and food; a few of his favorite things.
I think I set the bar too high though.
I can't replicate the perfection of this gift again, so I'm forced to get creative.
I made this:
It's a "kiss" countdown. Get it? Get it?
And this:
That second one is probably one of my favorite crafts. It's the song lyrics from "The Best Thing" by Relient K, which was the song from our wedding. I'm curious to see if Big S puts those 2 together or just sees a tree with hearts and our names (most likely the latter).
I got the last 2 ideas from thedatingdivas.com, not to be confused for datingdiva.com (thanks for making me look up porn, Kristen).
We've decided to do an "anniversary experience" this year and see how that goes. Probably take a mixology class or do a fun run (I can't believe that's a "thing," running is only meant for making you not feel fat when you eat 7 cupcakes and for bragging purposes, no one enjoys it) or maybe we'll go to Cheesecake Factory and eat an entire slice without puking. BIG PLANS.
I mean, I guess I could share those ideas too with you personally if you really wanted...I'll be sure to make it nice and awkward for all.
